Word: Design a flyer - a guide
You can easily create beautiful flyers with Word. We show you how to do this in this tip.
1. Set the size of the flyer
- Open Word and click on the tab "Page layout".
- Click on the "Size" option and then select "Other paper sizes".
- Now click on the "Paper" tab. For an A6 flyer you have to enter the dimensions 10.5 (width) x 14.8 (height).
- If you would like to send the flyer to a print shop, you must also observe the bleed allowances. These are approximately three millimeters on all sides. You can find out the exact values from your print shop.
- Add the bleed allowances to the dimensions. At three millimeters, this gives the dimensions 11.1 x 15.4.
2. Design and export the flyer
- Now insert your pictures and texts in Word.
- You should fill colors to the brim.
- For texts, make sure that they are approximately one centimeter from the edge. Otherwise the letters could be cut or cut off during printing.
- Finally, you must save your flyer as a PDF. To do this, click on "File" and then on "Save As ...". Now select "PDF" as "File type:". After you have determined the location, you can click on "Save".
