Word: Show gridlines - how it works
In Word, you can display gridlines to position words and graphics exactly. How this works and how to print the grid lines can be found in this practical tip.
Show grid lines in Word - Here's how
To display the grid lines in Word, proceed as follows:
- In Word, click the View menu.
- Here you will find the "Gridlines" checkbox in the "Display" section.
- If you activate the checkbox, the lines appear on the sheet. You can still move the grid lines using the indents. You are always wherever text could be.
Print grid lines - how it works
You cannot print out the grid lines because they are only intended for work. However, if you still want to print grid lines, you have to do them yourself. That's how it's done:
- Click on the "Insert" menu and then on the "Table"> "Insert Table" button.
- Now enter the following values: Columns: 40, Rows: 48, Fixed column width: 0.4.
- Then mark the finished table using the square button in the top left with the arrows in each direction.
- You can now improve the row and column height in the "Layout" section: Make sure that 0.4 is entered for both.
Position the grid exactly - how it works
- Push the indent further up or left so that the grid moves further into the corner.
- When the table is completely marked, move the mouse above the sheet to the ruler. At the point where the gray is separated by a white line for the first time, the mouse becomes a double arrow and you can move the table (see picture).
Alternatively, you can also use these templates for checkered sheets.
