Word: Change background color - how it works
In Word, you can change the background color of a page and do not necessarily have to use the white background. This can refresh the look of a presentation or printout, for example. We show you exactly how to do this.
Change background color in Word 2007
- Open a Word document and click on the "Page layout" tab.
- Here you will find the "Page Color" button, with which you can either select a color or mix a new color.
- If you move the mouse over the miniature palette, the sheet is already colored in the preview. So you can still fine-tune it.
Change background color in Word 2010/2013
- First open the Word document and click on the "Draft" tab.
- On the far right you will find the "Page color" tile. Here you can select a color from the palette or make a more precise selection using "other colors".
- The same applies here: if you move the mouse over individual colors, a preview will already be shown on the paper.
Change word background - so it'll work
You can also change the design color of Word itself:
- Click the Microsoft icon in the upper left corner and select "Word Options."
- Here you can select a color scheme in the first menu "Frequently used" (see picture).
Tip: You can also spice up your Word document with the text by underlining it in color.
