If you want to enter a per mille sign in Microsoft Office Word, this is only cumbersome the first time. We will show you how to easily insert the special character afterwards.
The alcohol sign as a special character
As with most word processing programs, you can find the alcohol mark in Microsoft Word under the special characters:
- To insert a thousandth character into your text for the first time, go to the menu "Insert" -> "Special characters".
- You have to scroll down quite a bit until you find the character. If you click on it, it will be automatically inserted into your text.
Set blood alcohol characters in Word AutoCorrect
Since it is quite cumbersome to search for the alcohol sign in the special characters each time, we will show you how it is easier for other texts.
- Mark the alcohol mark just inserted.
- Click on "Auto correction" in the "Tools" menu.
- In the "Replace" tab, enter the percent symbol "%" in the first field and then a "0" (% 0). In the field next to it you should already see the alcohol sign "‰" because you have marked it in the text. Now click on "New".
- If in future you will need a per mil sign in your text, it is sufficient to enter the percent sign "%" with a "0" after it. Auto correction automatically converts the character string into the alcohol percentage "‰"
