Word: Insert Roman Numbers
You can insert Roman numbers in Word in different ways - we present three simple variants.
Word: Write Roman numerals in normal text
Of course, you can simply write Roman numbers in the text as a string of capital letters. If you set the font for this to "Times New Roman", the numbers also stand out visually.
Insert symbols in Word
Roman numerals can also be found as symbols in word processing.
- To do this, click on the "Insert" tab and then on the far right on "Symbols"> "Additional symbols".
- Set the font to "Arial Unicode MS" and the subset to "Numbers". Then click on the desired number and select "Insert".
Roman numerals as bullets
The numbers are often also needed as a so-called sales mark. To do this, click on the numbering symbol in the menu bar and select the Roman number layout.
These instructions refer to Microsoft Word 2010. In Excel, you even have the option of automatically converting Arabic numbers to Roman ones. More on this in this practical tip.
