Word: Create write protection - how it works
In order to protect your Word documents against changes by third parties, we will show you how you can create a write protection.
Word: Create write protection for your document
These instructions were created under Microsoft Word 2010, but differ only slightly from other versions:
- Open your Word document and click on the "File"> "Information" tab.
- Choose Protect Document> Restrict Editing.
- You will then be returned to your document. There you can now specify in detail which elements you want to protect.
- To protect everything, check "Editing restrictions" and select "No changes (read-only)" in the drop-down list.
- After you have saved the document, the write protection is effective.
