Word: Correct typing errors automatically
Typing errors quickly creep in with longer texts, and correcting them yourself is time-consuming. This article shows you how Word can automatically correct these typos.
Word: Use the AutoCorrect function
Word has a database of common typographical errors. Activate this to save on correction work.
- Open Microsoft Word on your computer.
- Click on the "File" tab and then navigate to "Options" -> "Document Review".
- Select the "AutoCorrect Options" and go to the "AutoCorrect" tab.
- Check "Replace as you type".
- The typing errors listed there are now corrected as you type.
Word: Add your own typo corrections
Words that you mistype often can be added to the correction list.
- Again, as listed above, go to the "AutoCorrect Options" and the "AutoCorrect" tab.
- Enter the word with the typo in the "Replace" field.
- Now enter the correct spelling in the "By" field and then click on "Add".
- The word is now added to the database and corrected when it occurs again.
