WordPress hides its option to assign a separate CSS class to each menu item. In this practical tip, we show you where to find the function.
Call up option for CSS classes
In WordPress, you can assign an HTML attribute title to a menu item by default - the field for CSS classes hides the blogging software. To do this, proceed as follows:
- Click on "Design" in your dashboard and then on "Menus".
- Open the individual options using the button at the top right.
- In the extended menu properties, tick "CSS classes".
Assign a CSS class to menu items
Open the dropdown box of a menu item. Under »Display name« you will now find the field in which you can assign a CSS class to the respective menu item.
