World of Warcraft: base game and addons for free
If you want to play WoW, first of all you need the basic game.
- The base game can be downloaded for free from Blizzard.
- Up to level 20 you play for free with the starter pack. Even afterwards, the game does not necessarily cost you anything.
- However, your character will no longer have any experience until they acquire a subscription once they have reached level 20.
- In the starter version all addons except the latest (currently: Warlords of Dreanor) are integrated.
World of Warcraft: The monthly cost
If you want to develop your character beyond level 20, you have to take out a WoW subscription
- The monthly fee for the WoW subscription is then 12.99 euros.
- You can also opt for a three-month subscription instead of the normal monthly subscription. Then WoW will cost you the equivalent of just 11.99 euros per month.
- If you opt for a six-month subscription, the monthly price for WoW drops by another euro - namely to 10.99 euros.
- You pay WoW by the way by credit card, direct debit, Paypal or over the phone bill.
Word of Warcraft: Additional in-game costs
As the game progresses, there may be additional costs, such as when you want to change your character's name.
- If you want to transfer a character to another realm, you pay 20 euros.
- If you want to rename your character name, you also have to pay. 8 euros is the price for changing your character's identity.
- Additional costs arise if you want to change the faction (25 euros) or the complete appearance of your character (15 euros).
If the costs are too high for you, you can cancel your subscription.
