Remove WOT from Firefox - Here's how
If you are still using the WOT add-on for Firefox, you should remove the extension from your browser as soon as possible. We show you how and why.
That's why you should remove WOT from Firefox
- In November 2016, the NDR uncovered a trade in user data. It was already clear that data was collected, sold and used anonymously.
- However, the NDR found that millions of user data were also sold with the associated names of the users. Much of the data was collected via the WOT browser extension.
- WOT stands for "Web of Trust" and is intended to warn users of dangerous websites when surfing. Now WOT itself is considered a danger to users.
- Firefox has already responded and removed WOT from the offer. However, you must delete the extension yourself from your browser.
Instructions: Remove WOT from Firefox
- Click on the menu button in Firefox at the top right and select the "Add-Ons".
- Go to the "Extensions" category on the left and search for "WOT".
- Click the "Remove" button to the right of the add-on.
- The next time you start Firefox, WOT will have finally disappeared from your browser.
