WoW account blocked - you can do that
If you violate guidelines or if third parties access your WoW account, it can be blocked. We will explain what you can do in such a case.
WoW account blocked for security reasons: You can do that
It is not always your own fault if your account is blocked. If it's just a Blizzard precaution, the account will be released quickly.
- As a rule, you will be informed about an account lock by email. Make sure that you always have access to the email address that is stored in your BattleNet account.
- Read the information mail carefully. It usually contains both the rationale and the specific steps you need to take to unlock your account.
- If the account was automatically blocked because it was suspected that someone had stolen the account - for example, because you logged in from another country while on vacation - you can simply undo this block on Blizzard's unlock website.
- Click on the "Unlock Account" button and follow the steps to be able to access the account again.
WoW account blocked for rule violations: You can do that
If it is not the security case described above, you will usually be accused of misconduct. For example, bot / cheat allegations or breaches of community rules
- You can only contest such a block on the official support website.
- Blizzard has published clear rules for this case. Read and confirm these before contacting customer service.
- On the next screen, click the World of Warcraft logo.
- In the list of topics, select either "Unable to log in" or "Account compromised" if you think you have been hacked.
- Describe your case as precisely as possible and send the request. Support will get back to you, discuss the lock with you and, if necessary, remove it.
One reason for account blocking can be playing on P servers. We'll explain what these private WoW servers are all about.
