Selling WoW Account - The Best Tips
If you want to sell your WoW account, there are a few things to consider. We show you how to do this best and where dangers lurk when selling an account.
Can I sell a WoW account?
- The manufacturer "Blizzard Entertainment" does not like it that accounts are sold, which is why the project is actually prohibited. You can read more about this in the WoW terms of use under point I.4.
- Since you legally sell your intellectual property, which you have developed yourself, the sale usually has no consequences. Only if the manufacturer should find out that an account has been sold can the new owner be blocked. However, this happens only rarely and usually only when buyers or sellers brag about it in forums and handle their data too lightly.
- If you don't want to sell your entire account, but only one character, this is basically possible. A transfer of characters is possible, but only to a second account in your name. So you can keep your primary account and sell the second account.
Where should I offer my WoW account?
- You often get the most profit when you start an auction on Ebay or place an ad on Ebay classifieds. What you should consider at such auctions, you can read in the next paragraph.
- There are also websites that buy WoW accounts, such as MMOGA.de. Here you can describe your characters and receive an offer after one or two days. However, you usually earn less money here because it is an intermediary.
What should I consider when offering and selling?
One of the safest and easiest ways to sell your WoW account is through eBay or eBay classifieds. If you observe the following tips, nothing can happen to you as a seller.
- The description of the offer should contain the following data: the type of server, the level, the race, class, professions and skills of the chars, the mounts, the number of gold and other equipment. You should also state whether you have already received a warning and how long the account is still active.
- Do not include the exact server name or char name in the description of the auction to prevent abuse. Also, do not disclose any other sensitive information about you or your account.
- Also add a legal statement at the end of the offer. You will find these in the next paragraph.
- If you use the same password in your WoW account as in other accounts, such as Facebook, you should change the password for the WoW account before handing it over.
- If you have sold your account, first process the payment. Important: Only when the money has arrived in your account, you should transfer the account data to the buyer. This requires the email address, the password for the account, as well as the security question and its answer.
- With the final declaration (see next paragraph) you have obliged the buyer to change the password, the e-mail address and the contact data of the account. You should expressly point this out again after transferring the data.
Legally secured: final declaration
