WoW: Buy and upgrade heirlooms - you should note that
Heirlooms in WoW give you a massive level boost. We show what you should consider when buying and upgrading so that you are not left behind when leveling.
Buy WoW Heirlooms
You can get most of the heirlooms, depending on whether you are playing with the Horde or the Alliance, from an heirloom curator or from the guild dealer. Prerequisite: you are in a guild. Alternatively, you can buy a large part of the heirlooms with PvP brands.
- Alliance players will find Krom Starkarm in the Researchers' Hall in Eisenenschmiede.
- Horde players will find Estelle Gendry in the Rogue Quarter in Undercity.
- Both dealers offer the same items. However, you should note which ones you buy, as they vary depending on the class and specialization.
- An example is the hunter: he can wear "heavy armor" and needs a polearm for the specialization "survival", while beast mastery and marksmanship can carry both a bow and a rifle.
- Guild traders can be found in every major city. They offer helmets, legs, and cloaks if your guild has had the success.
- Armor parts cost 500 gold, weapons between 650 and 750 gold, and jewelry 700 gold.
- PvP vendors sell Pauldrons and a selection of weapons for 8 brands per armor and 10 brands per weapon.
You should take this into account when upgrading
The heirlooms scale to a maximum of level 60. So that you can use them up to level 100, you should have a large stock of gold, because upgrading is not cheap.
- To upgrade armor pieces, trinkets, hand weapons and shields to level 90, you need armor protection for ancient heirlooms. This item costs 1, 000 gold.
- For weapons you need the weapon sheath for ancient heirlooms, which costs 1, 200 gold.
- The level 100 variants each cost 2, 000 gold for armor etc. and 5, 000 gold for weapons. They can only be applied to heirlooms that have been upgraded to level 90.
Fun facts and insider tips for heirlooms in WoW
- If you have bought 35 heirlooms, you will receive a "mount" that you can use from level 1. But they don't ride themselves: a chauffeur does the job.
- Many heirlooms are famous weapons or set parts from the old times of WoW - for example the staff of Dunkelmeister Gandling from the pre-Mists of Pandaria Scholomance.
- It would cost more than 200, 000 gold to buy all heirlooms, upgrade them to level 90 and then to level 100.
