WoW: Rogue Class Guide
In this article we will give you a short guide to villains in WoW and show you which talents you have the best chances at in which levels.
Basics of rogue in WoW
- As a villain, you are a pure damage handler. You can also be supportive with the help of cooking or first aid, but your main focus is harm.
- Your primary attributes are agility and endurance.
- The most important secondary value is pace, which determines how quickly you attack, which is essential as a villain.
- A villain's resource is energy.
- A gnomish villain is worthwhile in many ways: On the one hand, gnomes have a speed bonus and on the other hand an increased amount of resources.
So you can play a villain
With regard to the new talent system, which was implemented in the game with Warlords on Draenor, we briefly explain which talents make the most sense at the different levels.
- Level 15: At level 15 you can award the first talent point. Select the "Shadow focus" talent. This ensures that you save 75% energy when attacking out of invisibility.
- Level 30: Here you should choose the talent "combat readiness". This will give you 10% less damage from the next attack for 20 seconds when activated. This is very important for a melee, especially if you are playing alone and have no healer available.
- Level 45: You can choose practically freely from the three talents here, but should make it dependent on the situation. While "volatility" can be a blessing for the healer, especially in raids, since you suffer less damage as a result, you can make very good progress with "leech poison" in solo play. "Jump off the Schippe" is also very good for solo play, as you are upgraded to 7% life instead of dying on fatal hits and you receive 85% reduced damage for 3 seconds. However, this effect can only occur once in 90 seconds.
- Level 60: We also recommend that you decide here based on the situation. In the solo game, "mantle and sword" is not a bad choice because it allows you to teleport behind the target. If you raid, however, either "shadow step" could be very useful, because this also makes you faster and appear behind the opponent. Or you choose the "speed boost" if you cannot keep up in the raid.
- Level 75: "Exploiting the weak" is an excellent talent for a raid, because with this some of your abilities will cast a curse on your opponent, which will cause them 10% more damage from all sources. "Internal Bleeding" is useful in both solo and raid because it sets a heavy bleeding effect on the opponent. We advise against the "dirty tricks" talent. This removes the energy costs for two attacks and means that they are no longer interrupted by poisons, but this is not particularly useful.
- Level 90: There is no question what you are training here. "Expectation" is the talent for raids and instances because it gives you top-ups that you can use as follows. If you opt for an offensive finishing move, all charges will be consumed as expected and you will receive combo points equal to these charges.
- Level 100: At level 100 you can, for example, skill "Toxic smoke". This talent ensures that your maximum energy is increased by 15 and the regeneration rate per poisoned enemy increases by 5%, up to a maximum of 15%.
