Hack WPA2-WLAN - is that possible?
WPA2 is currently touted as the most secure WiFi standard on the market. This practical tip tells you whether a WPA2 WLAN can be hacked.
Hack WPA2-WLAN - as you should know
Again and again one hears that WLAN networks are hacked. But how do the hackers do this and what can you do about it?
- A common method is to hack a WLAN network via a fake access point ("FakeAP").
- The hacker usually sends out a de-authentication signal that logs off all devices connected to the respective WLAN from the network.
- An access point with the same name is then created, which the hacking victim connects to.
- Then the password for the WLAN is asked again. No matter how secure your password should be, with a little criminal energy it is quite possible to get the data.
- Alternatively, so-called "brute force attacks" are often used. Various combinations of characters are tested until a suitable combination is found.
- Therefore, always create a long password. This is harder to crack. You should also never connect to an open WLAN of the same name.
- Another protection is the Mac address protection. Enter the WiFi Mac addresses of all your devices on your router. This means that only devices that have the password and that are entered on the router have access to the WLAN.
Deactivate your wireless connection if you do not need it. This works either via a switch on your router or via a schedule in the router menu.
