Take root in Excel
In this practical tip, you can read which formula you use to take root in Microsoft Excel.
Draw the square root in Excel
To see both the starting number and the result at the end, proceed as follows:
- Write the number whose square root you want to take in a field - for example 16 in A1.
- Then click in any empty cell in which the result is to be entered.
- Now enter the following formula "= ROOT (A1)" and confirm with the Enter key. Of course, replace A1 with the cell in which the starting number is in your case.
- The result appears in the selected cell.
If you do not want to keep the starting number, but only want to display the result, enter the corresponding number directly in the formula: "= ROOT (16)".
