What is WUXGA? - 16:10 format for wide screens.
The abbreviation WUXGA comes from the English and stands for "Wide Ultra eXtended Graphics Array".
- WUXGA means a certain resolution for wide screens.
- More precisely, the image resolution is 1920 x 1200.
- This resolution corresponds exactly to the 16:10 aspect ratio.
- For comparison: The resolution 1920 x 1080 is called "Full HD" and corresponds to the aspect ratio 16: 9.
- So if you use a 1920 x 1200 monitor and watch a film in 16: 9 format, you will see black borders at the top and bottom, each 60 pixels wide.
