XBOX 360: Connections at a glance
If you want to buy an Xbox 360, you should find out about all connections beforehand. We will show you which ones are available and which cables you need.
Front: All connections of the Xbox 360
Note: In addition to the original Xbox 360, the Xbox 360 S and Xbox 360 E were released in 2010 and 2013. In addition to minor changes to the hardware, some connections were also edited or left out.
- USB: There are always two USB ports on the front of the Xbox 360. Among other things, the controllers can be connected here.
- Memory Card: Only in the original Xbox 360 you will find two slots for memory cards at the front. However, these are no longer up to date.
- Drive: The most important connection is the DVD drive. You can start films and games here.
Back: All connections of the Xbox 360
- AV: You can use the supplied AV adapter to transmit picture and sound to your television with three cables. However, this is not possible in HD quality.
- HDMI: Higher resolution is only possible with an HDMI cable, but only with the newer versions of the console. Such a cable is not included, but you can find cheap HDMI cables for less than five euros on Amazon.
- LAN: To connect to the Internet, you need a LAN connection to your router. The newer versions S and E also have an integrated WLAN module.
- S / PDIF: The optical audio output is also only available for the newer consoles. You can use this to play the sound alternatively via a hi-fi system.
- USB: For the use of external devices such as hard drives, you will find an additional USB port on the back. The Xbox 360 S even provides three connections on the back.
Next, we'll show you how to flash your Xbox 360.
