Xbox 360: play Minecraft in multiplayer mode - how it works
You can also play the open world game "Minecraft" on your Xbox 360 in multiplayer mode. Here we show you how to play the crafting game in online multiplayer mode or via local multiplayer.
Multiplayer mode: Play Minecraft on the Xbos 360 with friends
In the open-word title "Minecraft" you create randomly generated worlds with your character at your convenience. In single player mode, however, only you can enter the worlds you have created. However, there are also ways on the Xbox 360 console to use multiplayer to play with your friends. So you can play "Minecraft" online or with your friends via local multiplayer.
- If you want to play "Minecraft" on your Xbox 360 console in online multiplayer mode, you also need an active Xbox Live account.
- If you prefer the local multiplayer mode, you need an HD TV, to which you can connect your Xbox 360 with an HDMI cable. Of course you also need another controller for your friend.
Play Minecraft in online multiplayer mode
- Start your Xbox 360 first and run the "Minecraft" video game.
- From the Minecraft selection menu, choose Play> Connect to Xbox LIVE> Create New World, and then create your own Minecraft world.
- Note that when you create your own game world, you check the checkbox of the "Online game" selection.
- You can edit all other settings for your online world according to your ideas. As soon as your online world has been set up, confirm your details by selecting the "Load" button.
- Once your "Minecraft" world has been generated, press the "Start" button on your Xbox controller to access the "Xbox Dashboard".
- In the "Xbox Dashboard" select the "Friends" option and select a suitable teammate from your friends list to add to your "Minecraft" world.
- Your friend must confirm your invitation to join your "Minecraft" world. Don't forget that your friend also needs an Xbox Live account to play with you.
- At the same time, your friends can also invite you to their game world at any time. You join this by accepting the game invitation.
Minecraft: Play with friends in local multiplayer

- Select the high definition output setting "1080p" in the "HDTV settings" and confirm your selection with the green "A button".
- In a next step, connect another Xbox 360 controller and start "Minecraft".
- In the game, select the "Play"> "Continue offline" option on the start screen and select a suitable "Minecraft" world that you have already created by clicking the "Load" button.
- As soon as the world has been loaded, your teammate is asked to press the "Start" button to join the game. Once your teammate has done this, a spill screen appears on your television and it is added to the game world.
