Connect Xbox One - Here's how
If you have bought an Xbox One, you can unpack, connect and set up the console directly. We will show you how to correctly connect the device to all technical devices.
Step 1: set up Xbox One correctly
- The most important thing is the correct placement of the Xbox One. The console may only be placed horizontally. Vertical positioning of the console can lead to defects.
- The Xbox One needs a safe stand and should not move during operation. Also make sure there is enough space around the console.
- To prevent the Xbox One from overheating, several centimeters of air should be left on each side (except for the floor). This is the only way to properly cool the device.
Step 2: connect Xbox One properly
- First connect the console to the TV or monitor using the HDMI cable provided. If the cable is too short, you can find cheap HDMI cables on Amazon.
- To do this, plug the cable into the left connector "HDMI Out". The other end of the cable now goes into any HDMI port on your TV.
- Now take the power supply and plug it into the far left of the back of Xbox One. You can then connect the power adapter to the socket.
- If you want to connect the console to the Internet via WLAN, wait until the Xbox One is set up. If you want to connect the device via cable, you will find the LAN connection at the bottom right on the back.
- If available, you can also connect the Kinect sensor via cable on the back. Finally, remove the protective film from the drive on the front left of the console.
Step 3: optional connections to Xbox One
- If you use a set-top box or a receiver for TV reception, you can also run it directly on Xbox One. To do this, no longer connect the device directly to the television using an HDMI cable, but to the "HDMI IN" of the Xbox One. So you can control your TV signal via the console and, if necessary, play games and watch TV in parallel.
- Alternatively, you can not run the Xbox One sound on your TV, but on your home theater system. To do this, connect a digital audio cable to the S / PDIF ports on Xbox One and system.
