Xbox One: Connect the headset and set it up - how it works
Extend your gaming experience with the Xbox One headset. Find out here how to connect and set up the headset.
How to connect and set up the headset on Xbox One
To use a headset, you need an adapter, which you can buy cheaply from Amazon, for example:
- First, update this Xbox One controller so you can use the headset.
- Then connect the adapter to the controller. This supports all 3.5mm jack plugs.
- Then connect the headset to the adapter.
- Now align the ear cups and the microphone to your requirements so that the headset fits perfectly.
- On the left side of the adapter is the balance control, which controls the output of the game and the chat. By default, the balance is set to 50:50, but you can adjust it to your liking.
- To mute the microphone, press the middle button on the adapter.
- The volume control for the overall volume is located on the right side of the adapter. There you can adjust the volume of the entire output.
Instead of a headset, you can also connect a speaker to the Xbox. You can find out how in the next practical tip. If you don't have a (good) headset yet, you should watch our video test on gaming headsets. A look at the headset top list including price comparison is also worthwhile.
