XBOX One: Installation stopped - you can do that
If the installation on Xbox One is stopped, this indicates a problem with the Internet connection. Read how to fix this error in our practical tip.
Xbox One installation paused - this will fix the problem
The error can occur if the console tries to download the update for the respective game during installation:
- Therefore, first disconnect the Internet connection from the console. Press the [Menu] button on the controller in the main menu and open the "Settings".
- Switch to "Network" here and then select "Disconnect wirelessly".
- If you are using a LAN cable, you can easily disconnect it from the console. After installation, set up the connection again.
Xbox One: Installation Paused - Cancel Download and Restart
If you try to install the game from the XBOX store, you should restart the download:
- Go back to the main menu and open "My Games & Apps" here.
- Find the game you want to install and select it.
- Then press the [Menu] button on the controller and then select "Cancel".
Xbox One: Installation stopped - eject DVD
If you start from a DVD, you have to do a little differently:
- First, eject the DVD. You can do this by pressing the button next to the drive.
- Then turn off the console by pressing and holding the Xbox button directly on the console for about 10 seconds.
- Then you have to restart the console. To do this, press the Xbox button again.
- Then insert the disc into the compartment and start installing the game.
Xbox One: Installation stopped - reconnect to the network
If you have successfully installed the game, you can now connect to the Internet.
- To do this, plug the LAN cable into the respective port on the console.
- If you use WLAN, switch to the "Settings"> "Network" settings of the console as described above.
- Select the "Set up wireless network" option here.
- Follow the instructions to set up an internet connection.
