XBOX One: Install and set up Kodi
You cannot install Kodi directly on the XBOX One. With a little detour you can still use the media player.
XBOX One: Install and set up Kodi
You cannot install Kodi directly on the XBOX One. However, it works if you use the Fire TV Stick as a detour. Of course you have to install Kodi on the stick.
- To install Kodi on the Fire TV Stick, you must first allow "Apps of Unknown Origin". You will find the option on the stick under "Settings -> System -> Developer Options".
- In the next step, search for "Es File" using the search function of the Fire TV Stick. In the search results, select "ES File Explorer" and install the app. After installation, start the ES File Explorer.
- Select "Favorites \ Add" and enter "//fs.bpx.li" in the path field. Incidentally, you can open the keyboard by pressing the selection button on the remote control of the stick. Now enter any name for the favorite and click on "Add".
- The new favorite should appear in the left bar. Select it here to download the AppStarter. Once the download is complete, click "Open File". If you press the selection button on the remote control again, the app will be installed. You must confirm the security question that appears with "Install".
- After installation, open the app and click on "Updates" on the left. You should see an entry here that you can use to install Kodi. Click on "Install" next to the entry, AppStarter installs the latest, stable Kodi version and you can use Kodi immediately on the Fire TV Stick and thus on the XBOX One.
We will explain in another practical tip whether the use of Kodi / XBMC for streaming is legal.
