XBOX One: Messages from unknown people - what to do?
As an XBOX One owner, if you receive messages from unknown people, you are likely to be the victim of a spam attack. A lot of XBOX One is currently receiving messages from strangers and what is Microsoft doing?
XBOX One: spam messages from strangers
You don't have many options with the XBOX One to protect yourself from spam attacks:
- Microsoft knows the problem and is working hard to find a solution.
- As with all spam, the following also applies in this case: Never click on links or open any attachments.
- If you suspect that this is a spam message, block the corresponding account.
- Report to Microsoft that you are receiving spam. It makes more sense to pass the message on to Microsoft instead of just the name of the spambot.
XBOX One: Report message as spam
- Go to the message and select "More".
- Then select "Report user" and then "Voice communication".
- Next, enter "Spam" in the comment field and confirm with "Report".
