Xbox One: Copy games to your hard drive
In this guide, we'll explain how to copy games on Xbox One to the console’s built-in hard drive.
Copy games to your hard drive on Xbox One
- To copy a game from the disc to the Xbox One hard drive, just insert the appropriate disc. You will automatically be asked to copy the required files to your hard drive and install the game.
- To copy downloadable games from the Xbox Games Store to your hard drive, go to "My Games and Apps" and select the appropriate title. Then press the menu button and select "Install".
- If you have an external storage device, such as an external hard drive, connected to your Xbox One, you can transfer games and files from the internal to the external storage medium. To do this, select "My games and apps" again and press the menu key. You can move the files back and forth between the different hard disks via the "Manage game" item.
