Xbox One: Record TV - Here's how
So far it is not possible to record the domestic TV signal with your Xbox One. With a little luck, however, this function should come in 2016. We have summarized all information and rumors here.
Record TV programs on Xbox One
- Microsoft already announced the new DVR function for Xbox One in 2015. A software update for the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom is scheduled for release in 2016. Other countries like Germany are to follow, hopefully in 2016.
- To record the TV signal you need reception via DVB-T and an external hard drive with USB connection. You can view the saved content on Xbox, the Xbox app for Windows 10 and the Xbox One SmartGlass app for iOS and Android.
Xbox One: Recordings only with TV tuner
- It has been possible to connect a TV receiver or a set-top box for some time. You can thus watch TV on your Xbox One and play games in parallel if you wish.
- Recording the TV signal will not be easy after the software update. This only works with content that is received with the Xbox One Digital TV Tuner.
- The TV tuner receives signals via DVB-T, DVB-T2 and DVB-C. The device costs 30 euros according to Microsoft, at Amazon and other providers you get a slightly cheaper price.
Xbox One: Record TV
- The function has not yet been released. How exactly the DVR function of the Xbox One is set up is therefore still unclear.
- However, you can already set up the TV function on Xbox One. All you need is a receiver and a suitable cable.
- In all likelihood, you can not only control the recording function via Xbox One. With the SmartGlass app and the Xbox app in Windows 10, recordings can also be controlled from outside.
