Set up Xbox One TV - how it works
With Xbox One TV, you can run the TV signal from a receiver over your Xbox. We show you how to do this.
Xbox One TV: the requirements
- To use Xbox One TV, you need a receiver with an HDMI output. You can connect the receiver to your Xbox One using an HDMI cable.
- This is especially helpful if your TV only has an HDMI input. So you don't have to constantly switch between Xbox and Receiver.
- If you have set up TV reception on Xbox One, you can use the Xbox app "TV" or the "OneGuide" to send the TV signal.
- If you also set up the voice commands, the receiver can be controlled via commands such as "Volume up", "Volume down", "Sound off", "Sound on" and "Menu".
How to set up Xbox One TV
- Open the "Settings" and select the category "TV & OneGuide".
- Wait a short moment and confirm the process with "Start".
- Now the receiver is recognized. After 12 seconds at the latest, the image from the receiver should appear on Xbox One.
- If you want to switch the receiver louder, quieter, on and off using the voice control, select the "Configure" option. If this is not the case, select "Skip" and continue with point 6.
- If you select the brand of your TV, a few commands are then sent from the Xbox to the receiver. For example, the Xbox announces that it will make the sound quieter. If this actually happens on the receiver, confirm the process.
- TV reception is now set up on Xbox One. If everything is not yet satisfactory, or if you always want to switch the Xbox on and off with the receiver, you will find the appropriate options as in step 1 in the settings.
