Xbox no longer shows a picture - what to do?
If your Xbox no longer displays an image, this is usually due to incorrect settings or a defective cable. We'll show you how to solve the problem yourself.
No picture on Xbox - so go ahead
- Reset: Press and hold the power button on the Xbox for about ten seconds, causing the Xbox to turn off. Then restart the console.
- TV: Check whether the correct HDMI input has been selected on the TV. There are usually several available here.
- Cables: HDMI cables are prone to damage. The contacts can wear out quickly after being repositioned frequently. Frequent rolling up can also break the cables under the plastic jacket. New HDMI cables cost around 20 euros.
- Change: Check if the problem is really with the console. Change both TV and HDMI cables.
Xbox shows no picture when playing Blu-Rays
If you use the Xbox to play Blu-Rays, incorrect settings may result in a black screen:
- Start the Xbox without the Blu-Ray and press the [Menu] button on the controller on the start page.
- Then select the "DVD and Blu-Ray" category in "Settings".
- Switch off the "Activate 24 Hz" option and insert the Blu-Ray again.
