Uninstall xCode completely - so it'll work
If you are not developing apps for iOS or Mac OS, you can uninstall the Xcode software from your Mac or MacBook. Our instructions will help you and show you exactly how to proceed.
Mac OS: Uninstall XCode completely
- Simultaneously press the [cmd] + [Space] keys so that the Spotlight search opens.
- Enter the search term "Terminal" here and open the correct search result.
- Now copy the following command into the terminal: sudo / Developer / Library / uninstall-devtools --mode = all
- Confirm the entry with the [Enter] key and then type in your administrator password.
- After a short wait, the approximately 7 to 8 GB program will be removed from your Mac.
Remove remains of Xcode on Mac
- Even if Xcode has already been removed, some files remain on your Mac or MacBook. You can also remove these files if you wish.
- Open the Spotlight search again with the key combination [cmd] + [space] and search for "Xcode". All search results can now be easily deleted.
