XMedia Recode: Instructions for beginners
With XMedia Recode you can adapt videos to the target device, eg your mobile phone or tablet. With this guide for beginners, you can use the software in a targeted and effective manner.
- Start XMedia Recode. Note: There is also a portable version of the software.
- Use the "Open file" option to select the video you want to convert.
- Under "Profile" you can now select the manufacturer of the device for which the video is to be converted. Then you have to select the device type.
- If the device is not listed under Profile, you must select the "User-defined" item. Now select the required file extension. Note: If you want to use DivX codecs, you must first install the DivX Player.
- Finally, under "Destination folder", enter the location where the new video is to be saved.
- Click "Add Job" to add the video to the conversion list.
- To convert several videos in a row, you can repeat this instruction from point two.
- If you click on the "Jobs" tab, you will see all videos to be converted.
- To start the conversion, select the "Coding" button.
- The new window shows you how long the process will take. It mainly depends on the performance of your computer.
- If you do not want to wait until the conversion is finished, you can select what should happen afterwards in the opened window under "After completion". For example, you can shutdown your PC after the conversion is complete.
Edit a video with XMedia Recode: Here's how
With XMedia Recode you can not only convert videos into different formats, but also add effects or crop the clips. To do this, you need to do the following:
- Follow steps 1 through 5 above.
- Now select the "Filter / Preview off" tab.
- Here you can cut the video in the different settings or, for example, overlay it with a filter.
- Click the "Add filter" button to choose from a range of filters and settings.
- Click "Add Job" to add the video to the conversion list.
- To start the process, select the "Coding" button.
