Xposed Framework: The best modules
Xposed Framework is a simple and effective way to spice up your Android device using special modules. We present the best options and the most powerful tools.
Xposed Framework: Tool module GravityBox
- The Gravity Box module is a toolbox with which Vanilla Android ROMs can be refurbished. Accordingly, it is warned against use with Touchwiz and Sense ROMs or custom ROMs such as Cyanogenmod, it can only be used with Android 4.1 / 4.2 / 4.3 Jelly Bean and in a second version with Android 4.4 KitKat.
- The abundance of tweaks is huge: It starts with the adjustment of the lock screen, continues through changes to the status or navigation bar (such as special colors or position of the time) to implementation of custom ROM features such as pie navigation from Paranoid Android. Here, many individual modules are combined into one large one.
- The app can be downloaded from the XDA forum and is basically free of charge. Premium features can be unlocked here via PayPal, which, however, only unlock a backup function.
A hint of the Motorola Moto X - Dynamic Notifications
- Motorola's Moto X has some special software features that distinguish it from the Nexus devices: For example, it comes with "Active Notifications", which shows incoming emails or SMS on a special lockscreen. Thanks to the Xposed module "Dynamic Notifications", this small, useful tool is now available for every Android device.
- After installation and activation, you can configure the lockscreen, which lights up when new notifications arrive and with a swipe of the finger, takes you directly to the respective app. In the settings of the module you can adjust the layout, display behavior and much more that goes beyond the original Motorola app - chic!
- The module can be downloaded free of charge from the Google Play Store and can also be used without the premium functions that can be activated for EUR 1.49. However, there are even more exciting features hidden here: For example, you can set a gentle, "breathing" lighting up of the notifications here, which makes the app even more valuable.
Hardware buttons reassigned - Xposed Additions
- If you switch to a new smartphone from another manufacturer, the different arrangement of the hardware buttons can be confusing. That is the end, because the small, fine module Xposed Additions lets you easily change the assignment of any hardware key.
- In this app you can really change the assignment of volume buttons, power button or even the three navigation keys under the display. In addition, you can define special actions while holding down the keys and even determine the length of this click. Here you can really adapt your device to your requirements.
- In the € 3.36 pro version of the module, you can use special push scenarios to define up to 6 different actions for a button. With a power button and two volume keys, this makes 36 different actions possible!
