Remove Xtreme Rat - so go ahead
Detect and remove Xtreme Rat with the freeware detector on your PC. The antivirus tool looks for a total of eight hidden Trojans on your PC. Our instructions show you how to find Xtreme advice and ban it from your system.
Detect finds Xtreme advice on your PC - the next steps
Little is known about the Trojan Xtreme Rat and its various types. First of all: If Detekt finds advice on your PC Xtreme, first of all check the Detekt log file. It is most likely a false alarm.
- The log file is located in the same folder as the executable detect file.
- Here you will probably be able to identify Avira as the "culprit" for the Detekt-Xtreme-Rat: avguard.exe and Avira.OE.Servi agree with the Xtreme Rat according to the log file.
- Uninstall Avira to check for suspected false alarms and then run the detect scan again. You won't find Xtreme Advice anymore.
Detector: No false alarm?
If you really have the Trojan Xtreme Rat on your computer (again: a positive detection find does not prove this at all), we advise you to set up the PC again. Then pay attention to the following:
- It is often not enough to format the hard drive and reinstall Windows.
- When you reach the "Where do you want to install Windows" window in the Windows installation menu, click on "Drive options (advanced)".
- At this point, first delete the partition with your operating system and then reformat it.
- If there are several partitions at this point or even several operating systems are installed, it is very often necessary to delete all partitions on the hard disk (i.e. all operating systems).
- Only then is the Xtreme Rat removed from your PC after a new installation of Windows. After the new installation, simply run the Detekt program again on your hard drive and you will then no longer find any Xtreme advice.
By the way, you should also change all passwords in a real Xtreme Council find. These processes should happen on an unaffected PC. Read how to create a secure password.
