Set up Yahoo Mail in Thunderbird - Here's how
Use this practical tip to find out how to set up your Yahoo mailbox in Thunderbird.
How to set up Yahoo Mail in Thunderbird
To be able to access new Yahoo emails using the Thunderbird mail program, you must first link your Yahoo mail mailbox to the software. We show you how it works.
- Open Thunderbird and click "Local Folders" on the left. Then select the item "E-Mail", which you can find under the heading "Create new account". (Alternatively, you can click on an existing account on the left and then choose "Create new account"> "Email".)
- In the next window, click on "Skip and use my existing email address". Then enter your name, email address from Yahoo Mail and your password from Yahoo Mail. Also decide whether your password should be saved or not.
- Press Enter and wait for Thunderbird to load everything. You will then be asked whether you want IMAP or POP3. With IMAP, the emails from Yahoo Mail are stored on the server, with POP3 on your computer. Decide here which method is better for you and click on "Done".
- You will then find the mailbox on the left side as usual and can control it accordingly.
