Yakuza Zero: the 5 best tips
Yakuza Zero is the prehistory of the Yakuza series. We have summarized the five best tips for your success as a Japanese gangster in the 80s here.
Tip 1: Choose the right fighting styles in Yakuza
For the two protagonists, you unlock three different fighting styles each with different advantages and disadvantages.
- Kiryu: The brawler style impresses with a balance of speed and penetration. If you want to strike and evade particularly quickly, you should choose the rush style. You fight very slowly in beast style, but the damage you deal is the greatest.
- Majima: The Thug style is the balanced standard style. In breaker style, you use break dance movements to quickly and elegantly wipe out your enemies. You are strongest in slugger style, but also prone to side attacks.
Tip 2: pursue side quests
- Do not ignore the side quests or the Substories, because this way you will receive valuable and interesting items.
- In Yakuza Zero there are a total of 100 side missions, which often consist of battles and dialogues, but bring you closer to the world in the game in a special way.
- 60 side quests await you as Kiryu and 40 as Majima.
Tip 3: The right equipment in Yakuza
- Visit regular supermarkets like Poppo and stock up on enough healing items such as potions.
- Don't underestimate the battles, because the potions you find in the game may not be enough.
- It's best to visit pharmacies that carry a wider range of healing items and also make sure you have enough weapons with you.
Tip 4: Try Yakuza Zero - mini games
- The Yakuza series is particularly characterized by its fun mini-games. Yakuza Zero also has a lot of activities that you can pursue outside of the story missions.
- In addition to games such as bowling, billiards and darts, you have access to dance battles in the disco, catfights, arcade arcades with SEGA classics and the Telephone Club, where you can get dates.
- The mini games are a good change from the fights and serve as a breather.
Tip 5: Use CP correctly
- In Yakuza Zero you receive Completion Points (CP) for the successful completion of missions, discussions or certain milestones.
- Visit the shrines in Kamurocho and Sotenbori to invest CP in adventure, battle, and business upgrades.
- Initially, turn to the first two categories and unlock a lot as soon as possible, for example to improve your martial arts faster and get more prize money.
