You can use Mail Drop on OS X Yosemite. With this new feature, you can send larger files to friends because conventional emails are limited to a certain capacity. In today's guide, you will learn how the feature works.
Use Mail Drop on Yosemite
Via Mail Drop, large files can be conveniently sent with the help of iCloud via email in the following ways:
- Start the Mail app on your Mac. To do this, enter "Mail" in the Spotlight search at the top right and then select the first hit.
- Now press the symbol for a new email.
- Select a recipient here and then click on the paper clip symbol to attach a file (see picture).
- If the attachment is too large, you will be asked for an upload via mail drop.
- If you confirm this request, the file will be uploaded to iCloud, wait until the upload is complete and the email is sent.
- The recipient of the email receives the email with a download link for the uploaded file.
