YouTube often translates foreign-language video titles into German, which sometimes produces strange results. Many users therefore wonder how the translations can be deactivated - we explain how it works.

You can access the settings from the YouTube homepage. You may be asked to sign in to your Google Account if you haven't already.
Select the "View or change Google account settings" option.
Click on "Data and Personalization" on the left.
Scroll down until you get to the "General Settings for the Web" submenu. Select the "Language" option here.
Here you can add all languages that you no longer want translated.
To deactivate translations for YouTube titles, you must first go to your Google account settings. You can find them on the YouTube homepage as follows:
- Click "Settings" at the bottom left of the YouTube homepage. You can find the option by scrolling down the menu on the left.
- Then select the "View or change Google Account settings" option. You will now land on the administration page of your Google account. Here you can make various settings for the behavior of the online service.
- The selection on the left now takes you to the "Data and Personalization" submenu. Here you can make various settings regarding the processing of your data and add languages that you have mastered.
- If you scroll down, you will find "Language" under "General settings for the web". Choose this.
- In this menu you can now select all languages that you speak. All video titles in the languages you added will then no longer be translated. Note that this setting could also affect other Google services.
