Share YouTube video privately with friends
You can share your videos privately with your friends on the Internet in many ways. The easiest way is with Youtube. However, you need a Google+ account if you want to publish clips.
- The "Public" option allows any user with a YouTube account to view your uploaded video.
- With "Not Listed", only YouTube users who have the link to your video have access to the YouTube video.
- With "private" you restrict the audience most effectively. Here you can make sure that only users you have selected have access to your video. You can limit a YouTube video with the setting "Private" to a maximum of 50 friends. Note that your friends also need a YouTube account.
Instructions: Share video on Youtube for friends
- First log in to YouTube with your access data and click on the "Upload" button at the top right next to the search bar.
- Select the video you want and choose "Private" from the upload option.
- An input field with the description "Share to:" now appears under the privacy settings. There you enter the names, Google+ circles or the email addresses of your friends who will watch the video later.
- Then - while your video is uploaded to YouTube - add all the necessary information such as video title, description and tags.
- Once the video is uploaded successfully, click the blue "Share" button in the top right to share your video privately.
- Your friends will then receive a message that you have shared your video privately with them. You can then watch the clip via the video link included.
If you no longer need a private video, you can remove it at any time. Read another practical tip on how to delete your own YouTube videos.
