Embed YouTube video in Word - Here's how
Since Word 2013, you can easily and directly integrate YouTube videos directly into Microsoft Word documents. We'll show you how in the following article.
Embed YouTube videos in Word - this is how you proceed
- First, click the "Insert" tab at the top of the Word menu.
- There you select the »Online Video« function.
- Now you can either search for a video with Microsoft's own search engine Bing or insert an embed code from YouTube directly. There is also a direct YouTube search at the bottom of the pop-up window, which you can also use conveniently.
- If you know the exact name of the YouTube video you're looking for, you should use quotation marks around it to narrow your search.
- A list of YouTube videos will appear. With a double click you not only select the desired video, but also insert it into your Word document. Alternatively, click on "Insert" at the bottom right.
- If you are not sure, you can preview the video in the search window.
Customize YouTube video in Word
- The video then appears as a still image in your Word document.
- The small symbol next to the video gives you the option of changing the text wrap using various »layout options«.
- With the "Crop" tool in the "Format" tab, you can change the appearance of your embedded video as well as a graphic and, for example, remove black block edges.
The instructions are based on Word 2013. In the next article you will read how to insert an Excel table in Word.
