There are various reasons why the AT symbol (@) on your keyboard no longer works. In this practical tip, we will show you how to find and fix the error.
AT sign does not work: How to enter an @
- The classic way to use an @ character is to use the key combination [AltGr] + [Q]. Alternatively, you can press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Q].
- If that doesn't work, try a different combination. Hold down the [Alt] key and enter 64 on the right side of the number pad.
AT symbol no longer works: software problems
- If you accidentally changed the keyboard layout from German to American, the key combination no longer works. If the @ symbol appears as a result of the combination [Shift] + [2], change the layout with [Shift] + [Alt].
- If that doesn't help either, just restart Windows. In most cases, this is due to a temporary error. Programs sometimes access the key combination and block it for other applications.
