Zelda: Breath of the Wild - make fire and cook
In Zelda: Breath of the Wild, thanks to the open world, you have plenty of options to shape your gameplay. Making a fire and cooking is also part of it. You can find out how this works here.
Make a fire in Breath of the Wild
If you have found a hotplate with a pot, you can prepare dishes there. For this, however, fire must burn.
- Sometimes it happens that there is still no fire blazing at the hob and you have to start one yourself. You have several options for this.
- Use sources of fire such as burning torches or lanterns nearby. With your own torch you can take a fire there and ignite the wood under the saucepan.
- In villages and at the bases you will find more and more sources of fire that you can use.
- If there is no suitable source of fire nearby, you can simply stand next to the firewood with a metal weapon and hit your weapon with a flint. The sparks that are created make the wood burn.
- The fastest way to light a fire is to use red mucus jelly and drop it next to the wood. You receive this item as loot from fire slime monsters. It creates a small explosion that ignites the fire.
Cooking at the fire pit
Once the firewood is lit under the pot, you can use your ingredients to make dishes and medicine from your inventory.
- Add ingredients by selecting them in your pocket, picking them up and adding them to the meal by pressing the A button.
- You can use the same method to select other ingredients. When you are satisfied, press the B button and then the A button to put all the ingredients in the pot.
- After a short sequence, you will receive a finished dish that has different effects depending on the ingredients.
