Zelda Twilight Princess (Wii): Find all gold insects
In Zelda Twilight Princess (Wii) you have to find gold insects and bring them to Princess Agnetha in her "castle" in West Hyrule. For this you will be rewarded with items and rubies. In this practical tip, we will tell you where you can find the little animals.
All locations of the gold insects in Zelda Twilight Princess
You need to find a total of twelve pairs of insects - twelve female and twelve male. Bring the insects to Princess Agnetha and you will be rewarded with a larger wallet the first time you hand them over. With it you can carry 600 rubies. You will then receive a package with 50 rubies for the first insect and 100 rubies for the second. If you have delivered all insects with Link, you will receive another wallet with which Link can carry 1000 rubies.
- Ant: You can find the ants in Kakariko. The male at the cemetery (left tree) and the female army's hiding on the left side of the street at the first accessible house.
- Mayfly: The mayfly feels comfortable in the Gerudo desert. The male can be found in the south at the barrier and the female in the valley in the northeast.
- Specter: You can find them at the Eldin Bridge. The male at the southern archway and the female is hidden north of the Eldin Bridge on the rock face. You see a target. You can catch the insect with the gripping hook.
- Praying Mantis: The male part can be found at Lake Hylia. You will find what you are looking for on a pillar of the north bridge. South of the bridge, under the natural rock arches, you will find the female counterpart.
- Grasshopper: To catch the pair, you have to go through the Hyrule Plain at Eldin. In the south you will find the male grasshopper and in the northeast the female grasshopper.
- Stag beetle: You can find them north of the Hyrule town. You can reach the male stag beetle on a tree in the west and discover the female counterpart on a rock in the north.
- Kellerassel: You have to go to the Kakariko Valley. In the southern area in front of the bridge you will find the male woodlouse. The female woodlouse is hiding in the northern area. You can collect the woodlouse under a tree in the west.
- Dragonfly: They love the water and can therefore be found in Zora's realm. You will find the male near the waterfall on the eastern wall. The female is in front of the booth.
- Ladybug: Here you will find it in front of Hyules Südtor. Walk down the stairs with Link. To the right of the rock is the male ladybug. The female is hiding in the second left bed.
- Rhinoceros beetle: in the hyrule plain Phirone on the first tree you will find the male. Discover the female over the eastern cliff.
- Butterfly: In front of the west gate Hyrules in a tuft of grass you will find the male butterfly. Next to the path to Lake Hylia, look to the right and see plants. Pull up on them with the gripping hook. The female is hiding there.
- Snail: You collect the snails in the sacred grove. In the clearing in front of the master sword you will find the male in the ruins on the ceiling. The female is in the citadel of time. On the right of the stairs you can see the snail.
General tips for finding gold insects on the Wii
Whenever you look for the insects, the falcon eye will help you. Even from a distance you can see the insects glittering. Also pay attention to the sound: If you are close enough to the animals, a "glitter melody" will sound. You can see the gold insects even better when you go hunting at night.
