To give away: Can you put old furniture on the street?
You see it again and again: old furniture on the sidewalk. But can you put your facility on the street for free removal? How to explain it to you.
Put old furniture on the street - is that allowed?
- If you leave your old facility on private property, this is of course allowed.
- It looks different if you park the furniture on public premises - for example on the sidewalk. You can't do that.
- In theory, placing old furniture in public places is like putting your household waste on the sidewalk.
Get rid of old furniture - there are alternatives
If you have furniture that is still too beautiful for bulky waste, you can give it away, exchange it or donate it.
- Giving away the old facility is a good alternative to bulky waste: There are many websites on the Internet that you can use to give away used items.
- Exchanges are also a good idea to make something useful out of the old furniture. The city of Berlin, for example, has launched a swap exchange to prevent parking on the street. A similar project exists in the city of Hamburg.
- Donating the old furniture is also an excellent idea to give the used furniture a new meaning. Institutions such as Caritas are always happy to receive donations in kind. However, only give furniture that is still reasonably beautiful.
- You can also try to monetize your facility. Sites such as eBay classifieds are suitable for this purpose. Here, too, you can set items as gifts.
