Use two headphones on the PC - so it'll work
In this practical tip, we will show you how you can use two headphones on the PC as an audio source.
1. Use a second headphone via audio adapter on the PC
Small audio adapters can help. They split one socket into two and usually don't cost much:
- Amazon already offers such an adapter for less than two euros.
- Simply plug it into the headphone jack on your PC. You can then connect two headphones to it.
2. Software settings for a second headphone on the PC
If you have two audio sockets on the PC, you only have to set the software correctly to be able to use both. Most sound card drivers disable the rear input when something is connected in the front.
- Some versions of the "Realtek HD Audio Manager" have the setting "Allows simultaneous playback of two different audio streams on the front and rear output devices".
- You can find this by clicking on "Advanced device settings" in the "Realtek HD Audio Manager" on the top right.
In another article we explain what the Realtek HD Audio Manager is and what it can do.
