Two phone numbers with one cell phone: how it works
You can use two phone numbers at the same time on one cell phone. For example, you can use a home and work number on the same device. Even if you want to combine two prepaid tariffs or two tariffs from home and abroad, the following practical tip will help you.
Two phone numbers with dual SIM phones
The range of dual SIM mobile phones ranges from minimalist and inexpensive Nokia phones to higher-priced Android devices.
- Dual SIM cell phones have two slots for SIM cards. So you can use two numbers on one cell phone.
- Depending on the system, you select which SIM card is used for SMS, mobile internet and calls by default, or you select the respective card before each action.
- The function of the dual SIM cell phone allows you to use, for example, a private and a business number. So you can switch off the business card after work and can only be reached privately.
Automatic call forwarding
- You can activate call forwarding on any cell phone. You can activate this in the menu of your device and enter a phone number to which the calls should be forwarded.
- The disadvantage here: you pay for each forwarding. Depending on the provider, the costs are at least equal to one call to the respective network. Only a few providers and contracts still offer the service free of charge.
- Automatic call forwarding is a good alternative, but in the long run a dual SIM cell phone pays off and proves to be much more practical.
