Amazon Prime Video is not loading in the browser - what to do?
If a video from Amazon Prime (Instant) Video does not load in your browser, this can have various causes. We show you the best tips for the most common problems.
Amazon Prime Video doesn't load - you can
No matter which browser you use, the following description is almost identical for all browsers mentioned:
- Click on the movie you want to watch and select "Watch Now".
- If you have not yet installed "Silverlight", Amazon usually suggests installing the plug-in now. If this does not happen, you can also download and install the browser plug-in here.
- You may have to press the F5 key to update the browser. If a movie still doesn't start, close the browser and restart it.
- If the film does not load yet, right-click on the video. Select "Silverlight" and check whether the radio button under "Updates" is set under "Updates".
- Also check whether the hardware acceleration is activated under "Playback".

Amazon Prime Video in Firefox or Chrome browser
Prime Instant Video still not loading on your computer? Then you have the following solution under Firefox and Chrome:
- For such cases, Amazon currently advises that you use Internet Explorer to stream films to your computer.
- Streaming should be possible on Internet Explorer. If streaming does not work here either, click on the gear icon in the top right. Select "Info" in the menu and check "Install new versions automatically".

Streaming doesn't work on Internet Explorer either? Then check whether your computer meets the system requirements. Amazon has published the following information:
- Minimum Internet bandwidth requirement: Standard Definition Videos (SD): 900 Kbits / sec; High Definition Videos (HD): 3.5 Mbits / sec.
- Computer hardware: PC: Intel Pentium 4 2.33GHz processor or similar; Mac: Intel Core Duo 1.33 GHz or faster.
- Operating systems: PC: Windows XP, SP2 or higher; Mac: OS X or later (10.5.7+), Intel processor.
