Write fractions in LibreOffice - how it works
To be able to write fractions in LibreOffice, you have to use the formula function. We'll show you where to find them and how to insert a fraction.
LibreOffice: Insert fractions using the formula function
- Click on "Insert" at the top of the menu bar and select the "Formula" option under the "Object" category.
- Now a small window opens with all mathematical operators and an input field (below). First select the symbol for the break in the window (see picture).
- Now the command "{} over {}" is automatically inserted at the bottom of the input field. Enter the desired numbers here. For example, the command to break two thirds (2 through 3) is "{2} over {3}".
- Then confirm your entry with the [Enter] key. The window closes and the fraction is inserted in the document.
