Chrome: delete autofill data - how it works
Google Chrome’s autofill feature can come in handy - and luckily, if you want to completely erase the data, it only takes a few steps.
Delete personal data for Autofill - this is how you proceed
By default, the autofill function is activated in the Google Chrome browser. If you not only want to deactivate this function, but want to completely delete the data, proceed as follows:
- Open the Chrome browser and click on the small icon with the three dashes in the top right.
- Select the "Settings" in the menu and also the "Settings" in the new window on the left.
- Scroll down to "Passwords and forms". The default is a checkmark at "Activate AutoFill to fill out web forms with just one click". Now remove this check mark. In the future, this measure will no longer automatically fill forms with your data, but your name and address are still saved. In a more detailed guide, we'll show you how to disable Autofill settings in Google Chrome.
- To delete your data, click on the "Manage AutoFill Settings" link. Now a window opens with the currently saved data. If you move the mouse over the name and address, "Edit" and a cross appear behind it. By clicking on the cross, the autofill data will be deleted.
- Confirm the setting so that in the future your data will no longer be automatically inserted into forms.
