Chrome: swap videos with picture-in-picture feature - how does it work?
With an add-on for Chrome you can outsource videos and use the picture-in-picture feature. This allows you to surf websites, for example, and watch a YouTube video in the same window. In this practical tip we will show you how.
Add a picture-in-picture add-on in Google Chrome
- Start Chrome and download the add-on "PIP-Video" from the Chrome webstore.
- After you have added PIP-Video, open a new tab. To use the picture-in-picture function, you have to enter "chrome: // flags / # enable-panels" in the address bar. Then press "Enter".
- Under the "Enable Control Panels" option, click "Enable". Then restart Chrome.

How to use the picture-in-picture feature in Chrome
- Watch a video on YouTube.
- An icon with a large and a small box now appears next to the video. If you click the icon, the video is swapped out.
- You can move the video anywhere on your screen. In addition, an entry appears in the task bar with which you can minimize and maximize the swapped video.
