You can enter various special characters on your Android or iOS smartphone - including the copyright symbol. We show you how it works.
Enter copyright symbol on Android
Android keyboards differ depending on the device type and manufacturer of your device. Nevertheless, you can usually enter the copyright symbol (©) in the same way.
- To do this, open the text field as usual and click on the menu item for the punctuation marks on your keyboard. This is usually labeled with "123" or "12 !?".
- Look for the copyright sign here.
- If you can't find it on this side of the keyboard, click the "Alt" button to see another list of characters.
- If you can't find the copyright sign on both sides, look for the at sign (@). Then long press this. Another selection of characters appears. Here you will also find the copyright symbol.
Enter copyright sign on iOS
Under iOs, inserting a copyright symbol is not that easy: it is only a detour. The easiest way to insert a copyright symbol is via the "Glyphboard" web app.
- To do this, open the Glyphboard website in your iPhone browser.
- When you find the copyright symbol in the list, press and hold it. Then click on "Copy".
- Now switch to your desired app. Tap in a text field and hold again until you can insert the character.
Alternatively, you can install another keyboard under iOS 8. In most cases, these contain a copyright sign.
