The first approach is to delete certain files. These usually build up again after a restart of the smartphone and there is no data loss. However, we recommend backing up the data beforehand so that in the worst case scenario there is no disaster.
- The "media storage" is a database in Android, in which certain links are created. For example, your music app knows where to find the audio files.
- The database is actually automatically rebuilt after being deleted. To avoid a worst-case scenario - total data loss - you should back up your android beforehand.
- Open the settings of your smartphone and tap on the "Application Manager".
- Then switch to the "All" tab. There, scroll down to the entry "Media storage".
- Tap on it and select the "Clear Data" option. Then restart your smartphone and wait ten minutes.

If the error still appears, other apps are probably responsible for the problem.
- Therefore, delete the data as above for the "Downloads" and "Download Manager" apps. Restart the smartphone as well.
